The Simply Giving Program
Stewardship at St. John’s
The Simply Giving program is an automated financial giving program that helps members live generously. It’s a convenient, safe and simple way for individuals to give their financial gift through electronic funds transfer (EFT) directly from their checking or savings accounts or linked credit card.

How does it work?
Simply Giving works just like any other automated payment. You determine the amount of your giving to the church, just as you do when placing gifts in your offering envelopes. Then, automatic withdrawals are set up directly from your checking or savings account or credit card. You determine the frequency of your automatic giving- weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly. You can select the date(s) of withdrawal – for example, the first of every month, every Friday, the 15th and 30th of the month – whatever you choose. On the designated day(s), the money is transferred from your account to the church’s account. Your statements will reflect your contributions as follows: “St. John’s contribution…$XXX.XX.”
What if I want to change the amount of my offering?
Changing the amount of your giving, or the date on which it is withdrawn, is as easy as using the Vanco app. You are also welcome to contact the church office – we can make any changes you wish within 24 hours.
Are there transaction fees?
No. The minor fees associated with Simply Giving are paid by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the church.
Aren’t electronic contributions risky?
No. An electronic contribution is safer than writing a check and it can’t be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail.
Will I still receive offering envelopes?
Yes. Offering envelopes are provided to every household UPON REQUEST. Keep in mind that the envelope packet you receive contains envelopes for special worship services and events, such as Advent, Lent, Thanksgiving, etc. Although you are giving regularly through Simply Giving, you may wish to also contribute something to these special days in the offering envelopes. There are also generic envelopes provided in every pew for use by anyone attending a service.
Annual Report
From our Annual Meeting
Our Annual Meeting takes place in January each year when we gather as a congregation to discuss important matters of the church, hold elections for various offices and engage in planning for the upcoming year of ministry. The Annual Report offers a meaningful look back at where we’ve been and a shared vision for where we’re going, highlighting the ministries, finances and people that shape our congregational life.
