Worship
The heart of our congregational life
“Let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.”
Hebrews 12:28
At St. John’s, we believe that worship is the opportunity to be shaped by word (the Bible) and sacrament, praising God for all the goodness which comes our way. We encourage all members of our community to take an active role in church services, from leading readings and assisting with communion to sharing their musical talents.
Join Us in Worship
Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
Worship with us every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m., with Faith Formation activities and coffee hour following. We believe all are welcome to share in the good news of God’s love and encourage everyone to join us. Services include: communion, singing, reading of scripture, sharing of the peace, a children’s message and prayer, receiving of offerings and a message from Pastor Stacy.
If you’re new to the area and are considering attending for the first time, we find folks like to know a bit about the following:

What should I wear?
We love to see you in your Sunday best…but most of all we just LOVE to see you! Wear whatever you find comfortable (and be prepared for a Lutheran amount of sitting and standing, as you are able). You’ll also find that many in attendance choose to break out their green and gold on game day Sundays, and really… ANY Sunday!
What if I’m not Lutheran?
Whether you have been part of another faith group before, stepped away for a while or are just starting out and don’t know what faith means or looks like in your life… you are welcome at St. John’s. We mean it when we say that all are welcome.
Can I bring my children?
All families are welcome at St. John’s and we offer a plethora of support and faith formation for children as they grow. Sunday Faith Formation, First Communion, VBS and Club 9 (confirmation) gatherings help guide children on their faith journeys. Visit our Faith Formation page to learn more.
What exactly is Fellowship Hour or Coffee Hour?
It’s a time for those in attendance to gather over light refreshments and share in fellowship with one another. It looks like friends catching up over coffee and a donut, but at scale. If you think that sounds like fun, it’s because it is!
Can’t make it in person?
No worries—we stream each worship live at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays, as well as midweek services and holidays. There is a collection of all prior services on our YouTube page.

Share your musical talents
Music is a special gift which enriches worship, and we try to encourage this gift in our midst. If you would like to share your God-given talents, we offer various choirs and groups you might want to join.
Please contact us for more information on how you can use your musical gift in worship with us.
Enjoy the seasons of the church
The Church Year shapes our worship and faith formation activities, leading us to remember the life and ministry of Jesus. Throughout the seasons of the church year, there are specific liturgical colors which inform our Christian Liturgy. We strive to enhance worship visually to engage those different themes from wall hangings to candles and everything in between.
